The third annual Healthcare AI Symposium (HAI 2026) returns to Singapore from July 8 to 10 at the One Farrer Hotel, bringing together over 350 healthcare professionals, researchers, and industry leaders to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence, medical technology, and digital health systems. Organised by A*STAR's Institute of High Performance Computing and co-organised by IMDA and the MOH Office for Healthcare Transformation, the symposium carries this year's theme "Designing the Future of Intelligent Health: Advancing Healthcare Through AI, MedTech and Digital Systems."

Senior Minister of State for Health and Digital Development Tan Kiat How will serve as Guest-of-Honour, joining more than 30 speakers including Professor Nigam Shah of Stanford University, Professor Tien Yin Wong of Tsinghua University, and leaders from SingHealth, NHG Health, and National University of Singapore's iHealthtech. The three-day programme spans six frontier themes from foundation models in healthcare to investing in the future of health AI, alongside a full-day hands-on workshop and a Healthcare Innovation Pitch Challenge for startups.

Major technology sponsors including NVIDIA, Amazon Web Services, NTT DATA, and Cisco Systems underscore the growing convergence between AI infrastructure and clinical practice. The symposium builds on last year's edition which drew 250 attendees and featured 20 expert speakers, three panel discussions, and 19 tech showcases. Attendees can expect deep dives into clinical AI deployment, regulatory pathways, and the practical challenges of integrating AI into Singapore's healthcare ecosystem.

Why it matters for Singapore: Singapore has positioned itself as a living laboratory for healthcare AI, with A*STAR, IMDA, and MOH driving pilot programmes across public hospitals and polyclinics. Events like HAI 2026 serve as a critical platform for aligning researchers, clinicians, and policymakers on the standards, infrastructure, and governance frameworks needed to scale AI in healthcare safely. For Singaporeans, the outcomes of these conversations will shape how AI impacts diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient care in the years ahead.
